The good folks at the Holiday Inn LAX wrote to tell me the news that they've completely refurbished their building and amenities and that they are located just one mile from the Los Angeles International Airport Termina. Horse Racing at Miami Airport (but not yet Detroit)

AP reported 7/23/09 that a Horse Racing Track is proposed for the parking lot of Miami International Airport. I'm in luck. I've got Hotels near Miami Airport MIA and Hotels near Horse Racing Courses ! Reminds me of the first story I posted here about back in January 2008 proposing a horse racing track near Detroit Wayne County Airport DTW - that still hasn't happened. Not last time I was in Motown.

Airport Weather Radar Page

Amongst other features I've added to Hotels near the Airport this last few months you can now find Airport Weather Radar for the top 50 Airports in the United States. This is suplimental to my City Weather Traffic Radio page at grand prix cities.com . If you're international and have a good local weather link for any airport city in the world and I'll start an International Page. This way you'll be able to monitor storms, snow, and other weather that could delay your stay and perhaps give you the need for a hotel near the airport!

Hotels near the airport.com site redesign

I hope you're enjoying the new "airport sky blue" redesign for Hotels near the Airport. It's been keeping me really busy with over 100 countries to clean up, check all the old links, but I'm hoping it'll make for a better user experience for everyone. Rather than update this page, I'm putting a bunch of new stuff on my airport hotels blog so check that out from time to time and perhaps subscribe while you're there.

In other news, and keeping me very busy is that I'm about to reopen my World Airports by IATA Code section of the website. I'm still in absoulte awe of how many airports you can cram between the codes AAA and ZZZ!!!! Let's see 26 times 26 times 26.... eeek, so I'll be busy.

Please let your friends know about hotels near the airport. The website really is anything but a cookie cutter hotels website. It's a collection of hand researched and mapped locations - a mention on your blog, a social bookmark, a link from your website, a twitter to someone in need of a hnta, everything helps and is greatly appreciated.

And speaking of social interaction, please let me know (via contact link below) if you have a picture of an airport sign or a review of an airport hotel. Any excuse for me to create another page and get closer to that wonderful thing... a hotel near an airport --- quick getaway!
